Jason, unlike any other character, is constantly worrying about what others think of him. He views himself as an elite member of society and is very condescending towards others. "Just like a woman. Six days late. Yet they try to make men believe that they're capable of conducting a business." This quotation is seen on page 120. This is one of the many quotations taken from Jason that are patronizing towards a certain group of people.
One of the nice things in Jason's chapter is that it makes sense! After ready Bengy and Quentin's chapters that are twisted and mangled and make little sense without reading in depth, Jason's chapter is a breeze to read. I almost enjoyed Jason, even though his condescending manner, more than Quentin or Benjy just because I was able to actually read and understand Jason. He had opinions about everything and his chapter had some intense action scenes.
take this a little further, why does Faulkner make him so unlikable but more readable?
