About William Faulkner

"The past is never dead, its not even past."This is one of many wise quotations from novelist William Faulkner who affected literature in many ways throughout his life span and in modern society as well. Faulkner lived in the South most his life amongst racial discrimination. This created a strong background for all of his literature works. He dreamt of going off to war and fighting in the intense battle fields, but this dream was never fulfilled. Even though he never fought, he often wrote about soldiers and various war efforts. His first novel, Soldiers' Pay, was written about a soldier returning home after fighting in the war. Overall, Faulkner effected society and literature in many positive ways.
